Join us for this playful and engaging group role-play class. Drama and theater naturally allow for people to experience real world situations. For instance, through role play one could transform those real world events into metaphors. It can provide a very accessible bridge between inner and outer realities and allow for a dialogue between the two.
In a session you will be use small scripts of different type of scenarios (from various popular movie/series/other sources), move things around the space as we explore a world we are trying to develop, engage in activities that use your body to communicate, and play with improvisation. By encouraging play, a person who might have a hard time expressing feelings can begin to open up. Playing allows us to take risks when we feel that it can be scary to step into the world and take on new challenges. This is a great class to promote social skills and communication.
